DIRECTING
HEDWIG AND THE ANGRY INCH by John Cameron Mitchell
In January, before the pandemic, I was asked by my friend and colleague, Jack Dillon, to direct a production of Hedwig and the Angry Inch. This was a dream come true, for Hedwig is my favorite musical. It was also thrilling because I have never done anything like this before, directing a musical. The show was going to be site specific, going up for one night only at a dive bar down the street. Unfortunately, just after we had finished blocking, COVID-19 squelched our efforts, leaving the project unfinished. Nevertheless, I think fondly of this production and value it as a crucial directorial learning experience. All of the money raised and not used was donated to The Trevor Project.

REVOLT. SHE SAID. REVOLT AGAIN. By Alice Birch
In Fall of 2019, I was so lucky to Assistant direct a production of this show alongside the extremely talented Eddie Vitcavage. We worked very closely and collaborated as a team rather than a hierarchy. This show has a fire that trancends the stage. Our cast and crew were all so inspired to work and make Revolt the best that it could be. Our production began as a D Series show at The University of Connecticut. We were then invited to perform the show at The Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival hosted at Cape Cod Community College. While we were there, our show won the "Golden Hammer" award, celebrating our efforts as students with little help from faculty. Eddie also won a directing award.
