THEATRE

Information for Foreigners by Griselda Gambaro

I had the honor of being a part of Maru Garcia’s production of Information for Foreigners by Griselda Gambaro at the Jersey City Theater Center. This immersive show was a huge undertaking. We utilized the entire theater for the show (Bathrooms and all) and we only had a week in the space to prepare. Nevertheless, with the guidance of Maru and producer Olga Levina, we created a harrowing and engaging show about los desaparecidos of Argentina.

The Apple and the Earth by Harrison Campbell

In January, I made my Tank debut in The Apple and the Earth, a new play by Harrison Campbell. This play is rooted in the world of  contact improv. Our rehearsals were spent moving as an ensemble, reacting to each other's touch, in order  to develop the whole picture.

ENCORE!!

From August to December, I rehearsed and toured with Chamber Theatre Productions in this colorful, zany medley retelling classic 19th century literature works. I loved the range of characters I was able to play throughout the performance. Among other roles, I played the flighty and flirtatious Katrina in The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, while in The Monkey's Paw I took on the grieving, elderly Mrs. White. Not only was this show a lesson in TYA, but it schooled me in teamwork, set building, and endurance. With five shows a week, we drove a 26ft box truck and a 12-passenger van from place to place where we would load in, set up, perform, load out, and drive to a new location. I made friends for life on this tour, and I am so grateful not only for the invaluable experience I gained but also that I was able to see so much of the country while doing what I love.

She Kills Monsters by Qui Nguyen

In September of 2021,  Connecticut Repertory Theatre launched their return to live theatre with Qui Nguyen's She Kills Monsters. Director Beth Gardiner wowed audiences with her incorporation of puppetry and stage combat that read beautifully on an outside stage. As Tilly, it was an honor for me to work with the creatives on this project. I gained copious amounts of knoledge about working with puppets and fighting with swords.

The Cherry Orchard  by Anton Chekhov

As my Connecticut Repertory Theatre debut, The Cherry Orchard was a perfect launching point for my professional acting career. John Miller Stephany is a brilliant director, and it was such a joy to work with someone who is incredibly passionate and knowledgeable about Chekhov. Playing Anya alongside seasoned Chekhovian actors is an experience that I will cherish forever. This production awakened in me a love for the playwright that prevails to this day.

Men On Boats by Jaclyn Backhaus

Also directed by Beth Gardiner, Men on Boats was a production that was cut short by COVID-19. We were able to get it on its feet and do one runthrough with tech and costumes before being sent home indefinitely. Nevertheless, the production was a profound experience for me. Playing William Dunn in this show introduced me to a whole new level of theatrical movement and ensemble.
